AHRMASouthwest.org "Vintage Motorcycle Competition at it Best" |
|
“Best Friends” – That’s what comes to mind every time I think about it. I’ve been racing motocross for 28 years now and I really haven’t found someone to share my quest with, until now. I met Rolf Greenhill while racing in the 40+ Intermediate class within AHRMA about 5 years ago. It wasn’t until the Chehalis AHRMA Vintage National in August 2007 did I realized what a great guy he was. We’d line up on the line with all the other guys and we’d all take off, Rolf charging from behind to pass me (because he new what would happen in the pits from his guy pals if he didn’t – LOL), and he always did. One day a few months back, while sitting on the back porch with my dad, Rolf, without notice, asked John R. (my dad) for my hand in marriage. It wasn’t until later that night when my dad asked me if I had something to tell him did I find out what Rolf had done. WOW – what a big surprise – of course I promptly said yes and plans were under way. As Rolf and I are huge motocross enthusiasts, especially when it comes to vintage motocross, it only made since to plan a wedding around what we loved most. So we looked at the calendar and picked the Brad Lackey Nor-Cal Classic for our date. It took one phone call to Brad and Rolf asked if he would do the honor of being his Best Man. Brad quickly accepted and things were rolling. My choice as my Maid of Honor was an easy one. Long time friend and racing competitor, Bonnie Warch, gladly accepted. To top things off, we sought another motorcycle supporter as our minister. Janette Player did a spectacular job uniting the two of us. We were very happy with the ceremony.
Lori Lackey was in charge of the cake and
festivities. Since the Lackey’s were already putting on a top notch
BBQ and Dance on Saturday night, they just added the wedding into
the plans. On Saturday night, right before the trophy presentation
up on the stage, my dad walked me up to the steps of the stage and
gave me away. While up on stage, Rolf and I took our vows and
joined in marriage in front of hundreds of friends, family, racers
and spectators. Rolf and I would like to thank Brad & Lori Lackey, Janette Player, my dad and Bonnie Warch for believing in us and helping us start on our way to a happy life. Your support and dedication to what we believe in is greatly appreciated. More photos can be found by clicking here. Sincerely,
Tami “Rice” Greenhill |
