AHRMA Booth hits
So-Cal
Anaheim III Supercross 2008
Norco, CA (February 4, 2008);
AHRMA once again rallied its troops together on Saturday, February
2, 2008 under the “Big A” at the Angels Stadium of Anaheim to
assemble the third of its kind promotional booth. As a special
treat, AHRMA members worked side-by-side with CALVMX members,
greeting fans, new rider prospects and the industry.
A full line up of vintage and post-vintage motorcycles included Mike
Owens’ 1979 YZ 400, Roger Brophy’s 1960 Greeves 250, Scott Brophy’s
1981 Maico 490 and Yamaha HL 500, Jeff Causen’s 74’, 78’ & 79’
Montesa collection, Mike Garcia’s Bultaco Pursang, John Adamo’s 1972
CZ 125, Nick Adamo’s 1974 Suzuki TM100, Bill Clem’s 1977 Suzuki RM
125, Rolf Greenhill’s 1957 Tribsa and Tami Rice’s 1974 Yamaha MX
250.
This weekend’s venue included another autograph session at 2pm with
national champions Gary Jones and Donnie Hansen. Gary’s original
1974 Can-Am 250 was on display for all to see while Kick Start Media
out of Carlton, VIC Australia provided video coverage for AHRMA.
An interview by Speed with Donnie was also video taped. Live
Nation’s Dave Prater extended an invitation to Mr. Jones, asking him
to bring his Can-Am up on stage to do an interview. Gary spoke on
AHRMA, vintage racing and his career in front of a full house and
the press. Coverage of the event included the AHRMA display in its
intro and Gary Jones’ on stage interview.
The next stop for AHRMA will be at the Qualcomm Stadium in San
Diego, California on February 9, 2008. As part of the partnership
between AHRMA’s southwest region and the CALVMX group, Southwest
Regional Coordinator Tami Rice will hand the torch to CALVMX Liaison
Frank Vrettas, who will coordinate the venue.
A big Thank You goes out to the AHRMA/CALVMX members who helped make
this great opportunity possible.
